Piano Lessons at Great Commission

Learning to the play piano as a student at GCCS in Canarsie.

Have you ever heard a song that made you happy?

If you find joy in many things, Great Commission’s music class is perfect for you!

Piano class is a joyful class. You may ask how piano class can be joyful, but at this school I find that a lot of things make us joyful.

This year we have a new piano teacher. She is kind to her students. Her name is Ms. Friedman. She’s a helpful teacher so if you don’t understand, just ask her and you’ll get your answer. I think you’ll love piano class and you’ll make music and friends with everyone here.

Enjoying Piano class with Ms. Friedmann

Piano class is only one day a week but you’ll be practicing the rest of the week on your own. First, two people leave the English class, get their books and head over to piano class. Second, we open our lesson book, read the page, and play the notes shown on the page. Finally, if you have any questions just ask her.

My hopes for learning to play piano is that I will learn to read music and be able to play fluently. I also hope that I might share what I have learned with other people like Mrs. Friedman teaches me. Learning, listening, and playing the piano fills me with joy.

The students all like to play piano and you'll like it too!
